There was no physical or spiritual creation. The universe and God have always existed. The "beginning" described in the Genesis is a record of the moment when mankind first began to realise that there was a God and that mankind had a soul.

Modern science has two theories about the creation of the universe and mankind. The first is the "big bang" theory which states that the universe was created in an instant. The second is the "singularity" theory which says that there can be no point of discontinuity in the universe. Most scientist agree that the universe is continually undergoing decay and regeneration, and that matter and energy are interchangeable. The total amount of energy remains the same with the vast majority of it being invisible in "black holes". God is the invisible guiding force behind all the energy and we humans are a source of visible energy.

The Bible has two versions of the creation of mankind and the universe. The first says that man was created in God's "image and likeness "and the second says that man was formed from the dust of the earth by the Lord God (the laws of nature) sometime after the "beginning". This means that the earth was already in existence when mankind first appeared. So, the Bible agrees with modern science that mankind was not created by God "in the beginning" and probably neither was the universe.

God is not a person. God is just creative thought, the divine Mind. The is no love without thought and therefore God is pure love.

The entity described in the Bible as being in God's image is not a corporeal being because God is not corporeal. It is our soul. The entity formed by the Lord God is our human body. Our soul is the perfect image and likeness of the divine Mind. Our brain governs the functions and emotions of our body. Our consciousness reflects our soul which resides in the divine Mind. When we die that reflection fades from our consciousness, but our soul never dies.

By definition God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent and therefore has always existed. As our souls are a reflection of Gd they too must have always existed. Therefore, the spiritual realm must have always existed. Similarly, the singularity theory says that the universe must have always existed. It is only mankind who is transitory.

But where is the love in all this? Love is the expression of a thought. God is divine thought. God is divine love and we are the expression of that love. Our soul is an integral part of the divine Mind and you can't get more personal than that.

The above is based on the ascension and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the following Bible passages:

1 John3: 1-3, Acts 17:28 & John1:17..
