The child of God

The message kept secret "from the foundation of the world" which was revealed to us by Jesus Christ is that we are his spiritual children. God is not a person. God is creative thought, the supreme intelligence. The Bible gives two versions of the creation of mankind. The first says that man was created in God's image and likeness. The second, according to the allegorical Bible record, occurred several days later when the "lord god" formed man from the dust of the earth and a woman by taking one of man's ribs. The real child of God is the one in God's image and likeness. It is not a corporeal being any more than God is. It is a reflection of God's thoughts. Our soul is the child of God. It is eternal and "lives and moves and has its being" in the divine Mind. Our human consciousness reflects our soul and when we die that reflection fades to the human senses but our soul lives on in the divine Mind.
