the Christian Commandments

Jesus gave us two simple commandments to live by as Christians: "to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and to love thy neighbour as thyself". These commandments take precedence over the Mosaic Laws and the Old testament: "for the laws were given by Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ". The first commandment, the most important of the two, governs our spiritual life and the second our earthly life. If we follow these two commandments we will do no harm to anyone and no harm shall come to us. Christ's message of love will reign supreme in out lives and we will be fulfilling God's mission for us: we will be "justified through our faith".
