When you start thinking about the child of God put the image of a physical body far from your thoughts.
God is divine Mind and not a physical being therefore his children "made in His image" can't be physical beings either.
They are reflections of God's divine thoughts.
God is only concerned with the perfection of those reflections, the perfection of your soul. Seeking perfection of your soul is to fulfill Jesus's commandment to "seek the kingdom of God first". It is that perfection that will gain you external life regardless of whether your body is perfect or not.
The perfecting of the body through a healing is the sign following that you have increased your understanding of God. It should not be the primary purpose of your prayer. Christian Science puts far too much emphasis on the healing process.
If God had meant us to all have perfect incorruptible bodies we would all have them from the beginning. Jesus didn't heal everyone in the crowd nor raise everyone that was dead. Neither did he remain in a physical body on this earth. That was not his mission. His mission was to reveal God to us and our true nature as God's child. He healed people as a way of validating his message. He healed only those who had faith in God and sought to know the truth. Knowing God is our reason for being here. It is the cause and a healing is the effect.
